Photographing people in the Studio allows the photographer the luxury of being able to plan ahead and finesse the lighting to make it most descriptive and complementary to the individual subject. The photographer is not bound by having to "work in" the surroundings. The photographer is able to focus in on the substance of the subject, creating more of a personal relationship between both the subject and the camera and the subject and the photographer. It's more personal. It's more intense. There is less "hiding" from the camera while being photographed in the Studio.
